See What I See
A 2-Man Downwind Experience in the Gorge

This is not a lesson.
This is a chance to sit in the boat and experience downwind the way it’s actually happening in real time.
You are not watching from an unstable craft being tossed around by fetch hoping to see when the instructor took a stroke.
You are not trying to piece it together afterward.
You are in the canoe.
Feeling:
- when to go
- when to wait
- how the bumps connect
- how speed changes everything
For four hours, you’ll sit seat one in a 2-man canoe in real Gorge conditions.
I call out what I am seeing as it is happening:
- where the energy is
- where to look
- which bumps matter
- when to accelerate
- when to let the boat run
You feel the timing, not just hear about it.
What You Will Learn
- How to read moving water in real time
- How to position for connection, not just individual bumps
- When effort matters and when it does not
- How to move left and right across energy lines
- How to stay on glide longer with less work
Additional topics:
- physiology and pacing
- decision-making under fatigue
- reducing overpaddling
Most paddlers try to learn downwind from the outside.
This puts them inside it.
Instead of guessing, they directly experience what is happening.
This Is For
Intermediate to advanced paddlers. Athletes looking to accelerate learning.
Paddlers who are close to linking bumps consistently but not quite there
